The second documentary from the series “Simulated dialogue”.

Ten years after the end of the war, Serbs and Croats, “ordinary citizens”: former combatants, those who lost family members, teachers, musicians and refugees, self-critically examine the painful and unresolved issues from the violent past.

Instead of meeting directly, their dialogue is being simulated through the film, where they ask each other questions and provide answers to them.
They talk about what their pain is and what they reproach either side in conflict, but also about their hopes and lessons learned from the past. Some of the question addressed are:
What is justice? How to reach reconciliation? Who is responsible and what responsible action should be at present times?
“It is incorrect that time will heal the wounds by itself” says a combatant who has spent four years in war. His message is that striving towards and building peace starts from oneself, from requestioning own responsibility and that of one’s own side, and taking actions for more prosperous future. Confronting the past constructively means building peace for the present and future.
