Joined by numerous friends, associates, comrades, people we met as we helped each other in the struggle for peace in the region, the Centre for Nonviolent Action marked its 20th anniversary over the weekend from 22 to 24 September 2017.<\/p>\n

Since we have worked with thousands of people over the past 20 years, we could only bring some of them to Sarajevo for that weekend to remember the past years in a relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The meetings and exchanges kicked off with a round table about \u201cWhere are we 20 years later and where are we off to?\u201d The discussion was moderated by Natascha Zupan and the participants included Nenad Vukosavljevi\u0107, who founded CNA with the assistance of the Kurve Wustrow organisation, represented on this occasion by Jochen Neumann; Martina Fischer, who has supported CNA from the very beginning; Adnan Hasanbegovi\u0107, one of CNA\u2019s first employees; Ibrahim Top\u010di\u0107 Pajo, a war veteran and long-time associate; and Albulena Karaga, peace activist from Macedonia and participant in our Training for Trainers.<\/p>\n

We continued the programme with a screening of the documentary \u201cDom u tu\u0111ini\u201d [\u201cAlien Home\u201d] that resulted from one of the activities from our last Training for Trainers and whose authors, Davorka Turk, Ned\u017ead Novali\u0107, \u010cedomir Glava\u0161 and Tamara Zrnovi\u0107, presented the film to the audience.<\/p>\n

The discussion topic in the afternoon was \u201cArt is Peace\u201d and we were joined by artists and activists:\u00a0 Elma Selman, Faruk \u0160ehi\u0107, Lejla Kalamuji\u0107, Ivana Franovi\u0107 and Ned\u017ead Horozovi\u0107 from CNA, with Kristina Ljevak as moderator.<\/p>\n

The concert of Mara iz Mostara band kicked off the informal part of our celebrations.<\/p>\n

We would like to thank all those who came to Sarajevo to mark this anniversary with us, emotionally remember the past and look to the future together.<\/p>\n
