The short story collection about reconciliation\u00a0Biber 02<\/a> was promoted in Zagreb on 7 June 2018 at the Bogdan Ogrizovi\u0107 Library and Reading Room. The participants in the discussion included Tatjana Groma\u010da<\/strong>, a writer from Pula who was a member of the Biber 02 contest jury; Lejla Kalamuji\u0107<\/strong>, a writer from Sarajevo whose story \u201cSneg je opet, Sne\u017eana\u201d<\/em> [It\u2019s Snowing Again, Sne\u017eana] was published in the collection; Qerim Ondozi<\/strong>, a translator from Pri\u0161tina; Milica Vu\u010dkovi\u0107<\/strong> from Belgrade whose story \u201cJedu ljudi i bez nogu\u201d<\/em> [People Without Legs Eat Too] won first prize; Sr\u0111an Sandi\u0107<\/strong>, a literary critic from Zagreb, and Davorka Turk<\/strong> representing the Biber team. The discussion was moderated by Aneta Lali\u0107<\/strong>. The Serbian Cultural Society Prosvjeta<\/strong> helped organise the event.<\/p>\n

It is important to write about reconciliation, talk about reconciliation, despite the fact that politicians abuse this topic, said Qerim Ondozi.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Talking about the task of being on the jury for the story collection, and about judging literature in general and the anticipated difficulty of making a selection, Tatjana Groma\u010da pointed out the cooperative work of the jury and that the decision was made quickly and unanimously.<\/p>\n

There were many stories of literary value. Platforms such as the Biber contest are always needed to provide young, and not-so-young writers with opportunities that are few and far between, she said at the promotion in Zagreb.<\/p>\n

The next promotion will be held in Kosovska Mitrovica in the autumn.<\/p>\n

The second Biber Contest was launched in January 2017. We received 385 stories in Albanian, Macedonian, Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Serbian. The jury was made up of Faruk \u0160ehi\u0107, Kim Mehmeti and Tatjana Groma\u010da. First prize went to the story \u201cJedu ljudi i bez nogu\u201d [People Without Legs Eat Too] by Milica Vu\u010dkovi\u0107 from Belgrade, the second prize was awarded to the story \u201c\u010ciko Zav\u201d [Mr Zav] by D\u017eeneta Rov\u010danin from Sarajevo and the third prize to \u201c\u0421\u0435\u043c\u0435\u0458\u0441\u0442\u0432\u043e\u0442\u043e \u043d\u0430 \u0447\u0438\u0447\u043a\u043e \u0410\u043a\u0438\u201d [Uncle Aki\u2019s Family] by Anu\u0161ka Minovska from Skopje. The collection with 25 selected stories was published in print in March 2018.<\/p>\n
