The \u201cWar of Memories\u201d exhibition was opened on 4 December 2018 at the Cultural Centre in Zavidovi\u0107i, and will remain on display in the lobby of the Cultural Centre until 18 December 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After Novi Pazar and Kragujevac, the \u201cWar of Memories\u201d exhibition returns<\/em> to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Along with the publication and website kulturasjecanja.org<\/a>, the exhibition testifies to the current culture of memory about the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n

The Centre for Nonviolent Action Sarajevo\/Belgrade is proud of its cooperation with our friends from Zavidovi\u0107i and of the support of local officials to our joint efforts. Opening the \u201cWar of Memories\u201d exhibition is one of the successful steps in dealing with the past and peacebuilding that we have made together with, among others, veterans from Zavidovi\u0107i.<\/p>\n

At the opening last night, the audience was addressed by Asim Parli\u0107 on behalf of the Disabled Veterans Association \u201cZavidovi\u0107i 92\u201d, who said he was glad the exhibition was presented to his fellow citizens. \u201cZavidovi\u0107i are an open town and I am always glad of an opportunity to confirm this fact. These photographs show how we remember the war, and I hope we will hear the messages and learn the lessons this exhibition has to teach us,\u201d Parli\u0107 said.<\/p>\n

Nenad Vukosavljevi\u0107 also spoke at the opening of the exhibition. He and Ned\u017ead Horozovi\u0107 are authors of the photographs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always happy to come to Zavidovi\u0107i because I have dear friends here,\u201d Vukosavljevi\u0107 said, referring to his cooperation with veterans from Zavidovi\u0107i and their courage to start and persevere on the path of peacebuilding.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we started with the joint visits of veterans to sites of atrocities, we wanted to visit a site in every local community of the others<\/em>, those that are, for the most part, the minority in the community today. In Zavidovi\u0107i, together with our friends from the Disabled Veterans Association Zavidovi\u0107i 92, we visited the 13th kilometre. <\/em>I am thankful for their courage,\u201d Vukosavljevi\u0107 said, adding that the importance of the \u201cWar of Memories\u201d exhibition is that it enables dialogue between different, often opposing narratives.<\/p>\n

Amer Deli\u0107, a member of the CNA team and a native of Zavidovi\u0107i, explained that CNA has attended commemorations at Site 715 and in Stog together with a mixed group of veterans and that two visits by war veterans were organised in Zavidovi\u0107i.<\/p>\n
