Commemorative gatherings to mark twenty-three years since the deaths of Croat civilians and soldiers from the settlements of Laništa, Ulice and surrounding areas near Brčko were held on Friday, 8 May 2015.
At the invitation of the Association of Families of Croat Defenders Killed and Missing in the Homeland War Ravne – Brčko, war-veterans from the region joined the marking of this event, along with us from the Centre for Nonviolent Action from Belgrade and Sarajevo.
Paying respects to the victims and laying wreaths at the memorials, we expressed our sorrow for the loss of life and showed how it is possible to achieve solidarity with each other in circumstances when we return to the painfulpast.
Addressing the gathering, representatives of the Association of Families and religious representatives expressed gratitude and support for our work, fortifying our commitment to continue these activities in the future.
It is also important to point out that we were assisted in the organisation and implementation of this activity by members of HVIDRA Ravne-Brčko with whom we have had many years of successful cooperation in the past.
