On Tuesday, 5 May 2026, the exhibition “We Come in Peace:  War Veterans in Peacebuilding” by Nenad Vukosavljević was opened at the Kilofest history festival in Zagreb, and a discussion panel was held to promote the book Negotiated Justice: Plea Agreements for War Crimes in the Former Yugoslavia, edited by Nedžad Novalić and Davorka Turk.

The exhibition will be on display at the National and University Library throughout the festival, until Friday, 8 May 2025.

With Tita Mikulaš acting as moderator, the panel hosted historian and member of CNA Nedžad Novalić, journalist and activist from the Kvart Youth Centre in Prijedor Edin Ramulić, and Jovana Kolarić, a researcher from the Humanitarian Law Center.

As one of the book’s editors Nedžad Novalić reflected on the challenges he encountered during research and on the contribution that Negotiated Justice can make to both the peacebuilding as well as the academic community. Edin Ramulić spoke about the significance of guilty pleas to society, pointing out that “the admission itself has that power” needed to fight against the denial of war crimes. Negotiated Justice focuses on the judgements as one segment of what can be found and researched in numerous sources, i.e. the legacy of court judgements in cases of war crimes in the former Yugoslavia, as Jovana Kolarić pointed out.

The electronic editions of both Negotiated Justice and We Come in Peace can be downloaded for free from our website, while print copies are available to visitors in our offices in Sarajevo and Belgrade.
