Centre for nonviolent action
With the support of the Centre for Nonviolent Action, in June 2020, a group of activists continued their activities to mark unmarked sites of suffering in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Five sites were marked: Hotel Igman and Hotel Maršal, Bilivode near Zenica, Miletići near Travnik and the site of the attack against the Tuzla Convoy of Salvation near Novi Travnik.
The peace initiative Marking Unmarked Sites of Suffering (ONMS) and the Centre for Nonviolent Action Sarajevo-Belgrade presented their activities and website with documentation on actions to mark unmarked sites of suffering related to the 1992-1995 war in BiH.
An informal group of activists, with the support of CNA, so far has marked more than 80 unmarked sites of suffering. This text presents reflections on actions to mark unmarked sites of suffering in Bosnia and Herzegovina related to the war period from 1991 to 1995.
We conducted this action from 12 to 14 November 2019 in and around Sanski Most, Prijedor, Bosanski Novi/Novi Grad and Krupa na Uni
Our ninth action of marking unmarked sites of suffering is complete. This time, we visited sites in Mostar, Konjic, Sarajevo and Istočno Sarajevo.
We have completed our eighth action of marking unmarked sites of atrocities. With nine new marked locations, that makes 67 sites we have marked
In November 2018, the informal group of peace activities, in its 8th action of marking unmarked sites of atrocities, marked sites in Vitez, Bosanski Petrovac, Kotor Varoš and at Manjača.
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Croatia, with the assistance and support of the activist group Unmarked Sites of Atrocities, which has marked 58 unmarked sites of atrocities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to date, has started marking unmarked sites of atrocities in Croatia.
In the action conducted from 26 to 29 March 2018, we marked unmarked sites of suffering in Vareš, Kakanj, Jajce, Prijedor and at Korićanske stijene.
