Despite the fact that the concept of transitional justice has widened (“evolved”), proof of its shortcomings has arisen through practice. In the Balkans, it was the original TJ concept that was implemented, relying solely on retributive justice mechanisms, in this case the International Criminal Tribunal and national war crimes proceedings.
The two monuments are separated by the main street in the old town of Jajce. Both symbolically and physically separated, the one to fallen fighters of ARBiH next to a mosque, the other to fallen HVO fighters, across the street, under a large cross. Together, the veterans paid their respects to both, thus bringing these two physically and symbolically separate monuments together
The translation of the Handbook came in response to the wishes and needs of people from Macedonia
Let us do less of what is perceived as “popular” for July 11th and do more of what is right for BiH; and let us look at mine, yours and ours Srebrenica for the will, strength and desire needed to make the changes we all need.

By no means easy, these steel-shod steps rung out loud and clear, confident and without fear, throughout our time in Niš and Aleksinac
The third peacebuilding training for students from BiH is complete. We identified the need for this type of peace education geared at students for the first time four years ago, when we organised the first peacebuilding training for students from BiH.
Our new handbook, bringing together experience gained over 20 years of trainings, has just come out in print.

We have completed our eighth action of marking unmarked sites of atrocities. With nine new marked locations, that makes 67 sites we have marked
In November 2018, the informal group of peace activities, in its 8th action of marking unmarked sites of atrocities, marked sites in Vitez, Bosanski Petrovac, Kotor Varoš and at Manjača.
War veterans at the commemoration in Stupni Do near Vareš, 23 October 2018
On 10 October 2018, members of the Centre for Nonviolent Action Sarajevo-Belgrade, together with some of our partners, war veterans and former members of HVO, the Army of RBiH and VRS, attended the commemoration to honour Serb victims killed in Mrkonjić Grad.
On the 25th anniversary of the killings in Trusina, the commemoration to honour the victims was attended by veterans from the region, veterans of the Army of BiH, HVO, HV, VRS, JNA and VJ.
